Co-create Asian American destination in Chinatown DC...
Help students, seniors, local residents, community builders, mentors and others plan the next steps for the fulfillment of the vision of Mayor Gray and the Chinese/Asian community for Chinatown DC as a unique Asian American destination. Make available funding to provide resources for this worthwhile project.

Co-creating an Asian American destination would attract more visitors to DC and that will help to provide for more jobs, training, cultural and economic opportunities. Next step: organize listening sessions and problem-solving sessions for local social entrepreneurs and movers/shakers to share how government can help to support such efforts. There are many things government can do to remove administrative barriers and burdens for startups and online businesses. It will take cooperation and support from the government to help the community and entrepreneurs make this a reality. A multi-agency task force to work with the community to make this happen will be a step forward in the right direction. This could be a major cultural and economic collaborative contribution!

This would be a great project to engage youths, students, volunteers and others who are in-between jobs. However funding is needed to make this happen with a task force under the outstanding leadership of Mayor Gray, the brilliant Office of Planning, the Office of Asian Pacific Islander Affairs to engage other departments including Recreation, Senior and other agencies to work with people committed to make this vision a reality!
