Help middle income dc residents get affordable housing
If you were born and raised in the district all your life. Why can't that be a benefit for affordable housing? You know history of the city and have supported it for generations. Just because you are considered middle income doesn't mean you can afford a house in the district if you are a single parent.

I did get an affordable house, and I have been living in DC all my life. I was in an affordable program with homestead, which kept my property taxes affordable, now my property taxes a quarter has gone up. my escrow payment was affordable 63.00 a month, which is tacked on to my mortgage, now it is $312.00 a month and that is attached to my mortgage. my mortgage was 891.00 a month now it has gone up to $1,141.08, some of you may think that is nothing, compared to what you pay, but I make less than $45,000 dollars a year, I called the Real Property Appraiser, and she suggested that I sell my house or refinance. I have exhausted all of my savings to pay my mortgage. Help us to get affordable housing, and help us to keep our houses with affordable taxes without having to move out of DC.
