Hello, my name is Steven Satterwhite. I am very concerned with the limited opportunities non-profits are challenged with such as housing opportunities for persons living with HIV/AIDS. We have to become more awre of how vital this is to persons infected and affected with HIV/AIDS. DCHA and other Government agencies have limited these resources for example supportive housing wait list is overwhelming and becomes an obstacle when someone is faced with the effects of becoming ill. There seems to be a limited concern when in fact this disease continues to plague our communities. I have taken a special interest as a Community support advocate daily to provide resources for persons in need of services. However this cannot be done alone ,yes DOH has been a great support while still limited in there efforts. I propose to you utilizing these Gobernment buildings ,make them work for this great district. Lets be accountable in our efforts to enhance the lives of people who inspite of challenges want to succeed.Iam open to any creative ways for improvement. Ispeak soley from experience and a person living with this disease.I want to encourage you in knowing that when we support each other you have amazing results. I can go on and on based on my personal challenges right now with DCHA and it's little concern for citizens 0f the district to prosper. This I am requesting some one to look into you,ll be suprised with the lack of communication that goes into this process and leaves us who are in desperate need limitless.
