Oh, change the record already, would you? Those of us who live here and have a little common sense know darn well that isn't going to happen. First of all, do you really think that a city council like the one we have now is capable of running a "state" when they can't even run a city? I mean, you have a crackhead running Ward 8, and the fact that he was even elected to office after his embarrassing performance as mayor is beyond reason. Guess what? Everyone on Capitol Hill watches the LOCAL news while they're here. They see how dysfunctional this mayor and city council are. If you think for one minute that this mini banana republic needs to be a state without getting a much needed enema first, you're clearly high.

Absolutely. People who enter the country illegally have already committed a crime once they cross the border. The lefty liberals are so worried about hurting someone's feelings and protecting the criminals that live here illegally that it is nauseating. I am all for diversity, as long as it is done the right way. We as a country are way too soft on this issue, the illegals know it, and continue to come because they know that there will be little or nothing done.

Companies that employ these individuals should be severely fined. These are the ones who are hurting small businesses, not those of us who want our border secured.

I am a nurse that works in one of the busiest emergency rooms in the city, and yes, I am a city resident. I cannot tell you how many times I ride my bike to work and pass the same group of illegal immigrants drinking on the corner to the point of passing out. I usually end up taking care of these individuals once they arrive at the emergency room via ambulance. Many of these individuals are transported to the emergency room EVERY DAY, and I sometimes see the same individuals TWICE IN THE SAME SHIFT. These people are not paying for the treatment they receive, they are not paying for the ambulance ride, and they are not going to stop doing what they do until this city stops doing what it does for most undesirables...enabling them.
