Creating a shared vision will allow us to meet the unmet needs of our City. Our Mayor wants our ideas for making the District of Columbia truly " One City", and I greatly appreciate his leadership and vision. We know that Non-profits face many challenges in their efforts to build capacity, as they possess limited resources in comparison to the need of the service they provide. Effective cost & resource-sharing can lesson the challenge for some and with the present day economic situation, an incubator style space sharing for non-profits is the most cost-effective and most efficient solution to a growing problem in the District of Columbia which relies heavily on the services of non-profit organizations in our community. I look forward to our continued dialogue on this idea.

An error occurred while saving the comment Louis H. Henderson commentedTruly Bridging the divides in the District of Columbia, would put in action this quote by MLK, where 30% ot our children are living in poverty.
“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits.”

An error occurred while saving the comment Louis H. Henderson commentedHello, my name is Louis H. Henderson and I am also interested in presenting ideas regarding services and housing for the homeless. I would like to present a developed proposal that would address all who may be at risk of becoming homeless. I would like to put special emphasis on youth aging out of the DC foster care system. Steven, I agree that when we support one another we do have amazing results. I believe that the One City Vision is meant to be a Shared Vision. Keep up the great work! A Quote for inspiration.
We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
