An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHere's a question -- the summer jobs kids actually do a decent job of picking up big things, but little shards of litter coat the ground. Could the leaf collection vacuum equipment be deployed to suck up the thick layer of tiny litter along our highways? Perhaps there's a technical obstacle, but it seems that leaf machines should be able to handle that stuff.

Developers are still interested in building a vibrant mixed use neighborhood. So why are we building a very permanent-looking "temporary" parking lot for the "temporary" uses of the aging DC General buildings?

I'm particularly in favor of tolling commuters who come here and choose to break our traffic and parking laws -- speed cameras and photo enforcement of parking are great ideas! Higher parking fees and taxes will also hit mostly Maryland and Virginia commuters as streetcars and Bikeshare make it less necessary for DC residents to drive and park in town.

Why does it seem so much of the debate around DCPS revolves around teaching jobs vs. what's best for our kids? DCPS should be seen as a source of education, not a source of employment. Of course, it would be great to train and hire DC residents as high quality teachers, but employment should be a side benefit, not a primary driver.
